TRADITIONAL

KARATEDO

THE WAY OF THE EMPTY HAND.

A MASTERY OF KARATE DOES NOT DEPEND ON THE LEARNER'S PHYSICAL CONSTITUTION, BUT MAINLY ON CONSTANT PRACTICE

Urban Mandirigma Clan has a direct link to Okinawa, the birthplace of karate. We practice a traditional style, which is called Shorin Ryu Seibukan. Shorin Ryu = “Small Forest Style”,
Seibukan = ”Holy Art School”. The main dojo is located in Okinawa, Japan. Our grandmaster is grandmaster Zenpo Shimabukuro. The lineage is clear and can be traced to its origin. The only place to learn Shorin Ryu  Seibukan Karate  in Switzerland is in the basement of Urban Mandirigma Clan.

Karate training is partitioned in four major parts:

Kihon Renshu - Basic movements: Learn how to move like a karateka
Zenshin Kotai - Basic Techniques in movement
Ippon Kumite - Partner fighting training
Kata - Formtraining

There are no competitions in traditional karate because its true purpose lies in pure self-defense.
